National Finalist in the Massolit Video Essay Competition
BackNational Finalist in the Massolit Video Essay Competition
Pictured is George Russell-Ross (Y12) at Brasenose College, Oxford University, for the award ceremony of the prestigious Massolit Video Essay Competition. Massolit is an educational platform that offers short video lectures from top university academics on a range of subjects, one that is used extensively by departments such as English at Skinners'. Each year, Massolit runs a competition in which UK students from Years 10, 11, and 12 are encouraged to submit a ten-minute video lecture on a subject of their choosing. Out of the hundreds of submissions, ten finalists are selected, with topics this year ranging from "The foxglove in art and medicine" to the "Evolution of tanks in the Second World War". George was selected for his sophisticated and charismatic video essay entitled “The scientific and ethical problems involved in interstellar travel.” Huge congratulations to George. We hope his success inspires other Skinners' students to submit entries when the competition re-opens in March 2025.
