LAMDA Speech and Drama
LAMDA Speech and Drama lessons are available at School from a private visiting LAMDA teacher.
LAMDA, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, is one of the most prestigious and highly regarded Drama Schools in the UK. Their external exams are accredited by Ofqual and recognised around the world. Students can take lessons in subjects such as Public Speaking, Speaking Verse and Prose and Acting.
There are so many benefits to LAMDA qualifications such as developing confidence through performance and enhancing communication and presentation skills, both of which are invaluable throughout life and essential when following a wide variety of career paths. Students develop the ability to communicate effectively, speaking audibly and clearly, and present ideas in front of an audience.
LAMDA exams offer students formal qualifications in Public Speaking, Speaking Verse and Prose and Acting and later, students can also earn UCAS points for their applications to university. In last summer’s LAMDA exams over 90% of students were awarded the highest grade of Distinction.
LAMDA Speech and Drama lessons are held weekly for 30 minutes and can be in either small groups, in pairs or in one to one solo classes. Lessons are held during the school day and students come out of school lessons on a rota so that a different lesson is missed each week; they never miss more than half a school period on each occasion. Once students are in Year 10 upwards they have lessons before or after school or at break or lunchtimes.
If you are interested in your son signing up for LAMDA lessons or you would like to find out more about LAMDA lessons and LAMDA exams at The Skinners’ School please register your interest by emailing Lucy at lucy.atkinsonparker@skinners-school.org.uk.
